This paper intends to explore the problems and challenges in the digital film industry, particularly regarding the issues of copyright protection in both legal and practical aspects. It employs a qualitative research design by analyzing research and literature results revolving around digital film copyright. It looks into the history of various laws and regulations of copyright protection, individual copyright applied uniquely to film works, challenges of copyright protection in the digital film industry with specific examples of piracy on digital film, and countermeasures in the digital film consumption market. It concludes that the preemptive, voluntary countermeasures and legal protection of copyright are essential to protect the digital film industry. Further studies are needed to seek a way to secure legal protection to those countermeasures.
