초록

The purpose of this study is to find out how the storytelling and STEAM technique emerged in 2009-revised-curriculum will affect the elementary school children’s scientific imagination. For this study, an experimental group and a control group were selected from 5th grader in Gyeonggi-do. We revised unit 1, ‘our body’(5th grade science) into story telling applied STEAM educational contents. To compare the effect of storytelling applied STEAM with normal lessons, we classified the result of scientific imagination test which held before and after class into group overall average, lower areal average and question per average and implemented t-test. As a result of the research, after scientific creativity test that held before and after the class was over, the gap between the average from experimental group seemed meaningful(p⟨.01) and it showed the effectiveness of program. On appreciation part, the lower areal of scientific imagination, the experimental class showed 6.45 point higher than the control class, so it seemed that this program was effective on appreciation parts overall. It didn’t seem so different on overall test, but on lower areal items (originality, passion, scientific imaginary), the result of this test which was held before and after lesson showed meaningful, which proves that this program is effective. On the domain of scientific sense of reality, experimental class showed higher realization ability on judging feasibility, so it shows that experimental class has higher ability on understanding the feasibility of result from scientific imagination.
