안중근에게 빌렘은 아버지 안태훈과 함께 절대적 영향을 미친 인물이었다. 안중근은 1897년 빌렘에 의해 가톨릭 영세를 받고, 복사(服事)로서 빌렘 신부와의인연을 맺어 나갔다. 그리고 안중근이 1910년 순국할 때 종부성사와 최후의 미사를 통해 두 사람의 인연은 영생으로 승화될 수 있었다. ‘자유와 평화’는 인류가 이뤄내야 할 꿈이자 희망이다. 오늘날 우리가 추구해야 할 세계 평화는 제국주의의 잘못을 반성하는 것에서 출발해야 한다. 한국의 독립운동은 자유와 평화를 위한 민족운동이자 인류평화운동이었다. 50여 년의 독립운동에서 일본제국주의에 맞서 싸운 한국인은 5백만 명에 달하고, 그 가운데 희생된 사람만도 수 십만명에 이르렀다. 한국 독립운동에서 안중근을 비롯한 그의 집안은 특별한 위치를 차지하고 있다. 3대에 걸쳐 20여 명이 독립운동을 전개했고, 이들은 모두 가톨릭 신자였다. 청계동 성당의 신자였던 이들의 종교적 중심에는 빌렘이 자리하고 있었다. 그렇지만안중근이 그랬듯이 민족과 어긋나지 않는 종교의 양심을 지켜 나갔다. 안중근이 주창한 ‘동양평화론’은 전쟁 억제를 평화의 근본으로 삼고 있다는 점에서 영구적 생명력을 지니는 것이었다. 그것은 한국 독립운동의 본질이 무엇인지를 말해주는 것이기도 했다. 안중근 의거는 일제의 만주침략을 저지했다는 점에서동양평화를 수호한 것이었다. 제국주의 시대에는 ‘전쟁에 의한 평화’가 세상을 지배하고 있었다. 그리고 끝내 두 차례의 세계대전을 겪어야 했다. 안중근의 ‘동양평화론’은 서양 제국주의 침략에 맞서 동아시아의 평화를 기원하는 것이었지만, 그것은 동양주의에 머물지 않고 세계평화주의를 염원하는 수준으로 발전하고 있었다. 안중근과 빌렘은 민족과 종교라는 점에서 엇갈리는 부분도 있었지만, 두 사람은 단순히 사제와 신자의 관계가 아니었다. 종부성사와 최후 미사에서 보듯이, 안중근에게 빌렘은 영생의 ‘아버지’였다면, 빌렘에게 안중근은 ‘세속의 아들’이나 다름없었다. 그런 점에서 두 사람은 종교와 민족의 양심을 초월할 수 있었다. 후일 빌렘이종교적 양심을 초월해 안중근의 독립운동에 정당성을 부여했던 것은 그런 사실을웅변해주는 대목이 아닐 수 없을 것이다.
Abstract
J. Wilhelem and Ahn Tae-hoon was crucial person for Ahn Jung-geun. Wilhelem was an absolute influence on Ahn Jung-geun with his father. Ahn Jung-geun was baptized into the Christian faith by Wilhelem, and had a special bond with Whilhelm. Moreover, when he died for his country in 1910, their relationship was to be sublimated into eternal life through the last rites and last mass. ‘Liberty and peace’ is a ideal of humankind to be done and hope. Today, World peace, which we should pursue, have to start to reflect on the fault of imperialism. Korean independence movement was not only the national movement for liberty and peace, but also the peace movement of humanity. Koreans, who fought against Japanese imperialism, reached 5 million during the 50 years of independence movement, and there was hundreds of thousands of them were sacrificed. Ahn Jung-geun and his family take a special position in Korean independence movement. All those deployed more than 20 people the independence movement across three generations, and a devoted Catholic family. Wilhelem in the religious center of the them was located. However, they were people who deserved and keep religious conscience like Ahn Jung-geun. Ahn Jung Keun's Theory of Oriental Peace is deterrence as inspiration for all the peace that the permanent life in. It is also to tell me what the nature of Korean independence movement. Ahn Jung Keun's patriotic action was defending a peace of East Asia in that stop of the Japanese invasion of Manchuria. ‘Peace caused by war’ ruled the world at the time of imperialism. And it had to be through two world wars. Ahn Jung Keun's Theory of Oriental Peace was a wish for peace in East Asia against the invasion of west imperialism. However, it is not stay on the principle of the East and global levels : an aspiration to be a pacifist movement. Wilhelem and Ahn Jung Keun was not merely the relationship between the clergymen and followers. Wilhelem was the father of enternal life for Ahn, and Ahn was ‘son of the world’ for Wilhelem. That is why they can transcend religion and conscience of the nation. A religious conscience to transcend a later date to Ahn's independence movement reflects justification is to reflect the fact that it can do.
