본문에서는 문법적 특징과 지시 대상을 통해 근칭 지시사 “這麼”와 원칭 지시사 “那麼”의 의미를 분석하고, 원형 이론을 적용하여 이들 의미 간의 관련성을 탐구한다. “這麼”와 “那麼”는 문법적으로 부사와 한정사의 기능을 겸하지만, 주로 부사로 사용된다. 부사로서의 “這麼”와 “那麼”는 주로 성질이나 정도를 지시하며, 이는 두 지시사의 원형 의미로 간주될 수 있다. 두 지시사는 이러한 원형 의미를 통해 환유와 은유의 과정을 거쳐, “這麼”는 주제 표지로, “那麼”는 연결 표지 등 담화 기능으로까지 발전하였다.
Abstract
This study analyzes syntactic structures and referentsof proximal demonstrative “zheme” and distal demonstrative “name” in Mandarin.It explores the relationships between different senses based on prototype theory.According to their syntactic features, both "zhemen"and "namen"can function as adverbs and determiners, but the adverbial usage is predominant. When used as adverbs, "zhemen"and "namen"typically refer to the degree of a quality, which can be considered their prototypical meaning. They both extend to different senses through metaphor and metonymy, eventually developing distinct discourse functions. "zhemen" evolves into a topic marker, while "namen" develops into a cohesion marker.
