여성청소년의 성적 학대경험, 가출, 폭력적 비행, 그리고 성관련 비행과의 연관성에 관한 연구

이 연구는 여성 청소년들의 성적학대피해의 경험과, 가출의 경험, 그리고 이들이 연루되는 비행행위의 유형간의 관계를 경험적으로 분석하고자 하였다. 보다 구체적으로 페미니스트 이론과 선행연구들의 발견들에 근거하여 여자 청소년들이 경험하는 성적학대의 피해가 폭력적 비행 또는 비폭력적 비행행위 중 특정 형태의 유형의 비행과 더욱 연관이 있는지, 그리고 여성 청소년들이 경험하는 성적학대피해의 경험을 가출의 경험이 중재 또는 조정하는지 여부를 파악하고자 하였다. 이와 같은 연구목적을 위하여 보호관찰중의 260명의 여성비행청소년들의 설문데이터를 사용하여 분석을 수행하였다. 분석결과, 여성청소년들의 성적학대피해의 경험은 이들의 비폭력적 비행행위인 성관련 비행행위의 위험을 증가시키는 반면 폭력적 비행행위의 발생은 낮추는 요인인 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 가출은 여성 청소년들의 성적학대피해의 경험과 성관련비행 및 폭력적 비행을 일부 중재하는 역할을 하고 있는 것으로 나타났으며 동시에 조정의 역할도 일부 수행하고 있는 것으로 보였다. 무엇보다도 가출의 경험은 여성 청소년들의 성적학대피해의 경험보다 폭력비행 및 성관련 비행의 위험을 증가시키는 직접적이고 강력한 위험요인인 것으로 나타나 국내의 형사사법기관 및 청소년선도관련기관에서 여성청소년들의 다양한 비행을 예방하기 위해서 가출청소년에 대한 선도와 보호가 절실히 필요한 요인이라는 것을 확인시켜주었다. 그 외의 이 연구의 공헌점, 제한점 등이 논의에 제시되었다.
Abstract
The goal of this study is to examine the interrelationship among sexual victimization, running away, and violent and/or non-violent delinquency (sexual deviance) of delinquent girls, and if running away serves to mediate or moderate this relationship as Feminist theories proposed. Using data from a sample of 260 delinquent girls under probation, this study conducted a series of multivariate logistic analyses. Results of this study suggests that being sexually abused increases the likelihood of being involved in sexually deviant behaviors, while it decreases the likelihood of being engaged in violent deviant behaviors among delinquent girls, and running away is a greatest risk factor predicting both sexual and violent deviancy of girls. Furthermore, running away plays as mediator as well as moderator in the relationship between girls' sexual abuse victimization and their violent and/or non-violent delinquency. Implications of the study findings for future research and policy and limitations of the research are discussed.
