무선 인터넷 망 개방과 WIPI의 개발로 인한 디지털 콘텐츠 제공 환경의 변화에 대한 연구

Abstract

A Study on change of provision environment of Digital Contents according to Wireless Internet Network and WIPI Kim, Jea Ha Assistant Professor / Digital Arts Division, Seoul Institute of the Arts October 2004, the mobile communication members are passing over 35 millions and the number of mobile phones which support wireless internet is estimated over 30 million. As not only existing mobile phones which supports wireless internet but also PDAs which added wireless internet module become wide-spread, the number of mobile phone which support wireless internet is an increasing trend. According to the statistics that domestic mobile communication company reports, the number of mobile communication members is 30 millions approximately and most users tend to use simple services such as SMS. But, CP(Contents Provider) plan to provide a variety of contents and as WIPI(Wireless Internet Platform for Interoperability) which is researched by ETRI as Korean wireless internet standard platform and it forecasts that the more contents will be provided because content developers and CPs are possible to use One-source Multi-use. As the mobile communication network is evolved from CDMA2000 to W-CDMA, it is expected successful wireless internet because previously restricted transmission speed which is the problem is solved partially. In this paper, we review the wireless internet technology and WIPI, and have a view of content provision from now on opening of mobile network.
