성폭력 피해 경험과 음주습관이 대학생의 데이트폭력 가해행동에 미치는 영향: 범죄경력의 매개효과

이 연구는 최근 사회적으로 심각한 문제로 부각되고 있는 데이트폭력의 가해에 미치는 영향을 분석하여 데이트폭력 예방에 대한 정책적 제언을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 이 연구에서는 성범죄 피해경험과 과도한 음주습관과 같은 요인이 데이트폭력 가해행동에 미치는 영향과 이러한 영향에서 과거의 범죄경력이 가지는 매개효과를 함께 분석하였다. 이 연구의 대상은 대학생으로 한정지었으며, 데이트폭력에 대해 가장 취약한 상태를 가진 집단에 속한다. 구조방정식 모형을 활용한 분석결과, 성범죄에 대한 피해경험이 있는 대학생이 데이트폭력 가해행동을 할 가능성이 높으며, 과도한 음주습관을 가지고 있고 범죄 경력이 있을수록 데이트폭력의 가해행동을 할 가능성도 높아졌다. 이러한 결과는 다른 유형의 폭력범죄의 원인을 분석한 선행연구에서 설명하는 영향요인과 크게 다르지 않은 결과이다. 따라서 기존의 폭력범죄의 성향을 가지고 있는 대학생이 데이트 상대에게도 폭력을 행사 할 가능성이 높으므로 데이트폭력의 예방을 위해 기존의 폭력범죄 예방정책을 강화할 필요도 있겠다. 또한 성범죄의 피해경험이 데이트폭력 가해행동에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 결과에 따라 피해자에 대한 정책적 지원이 더욱 강화 되어야겠다. 과거와 비교하여 피해자지원이 많이 이루어지고 있으나, 이는 거시적으로 단순히 범죄 피해자의 지원에 그치는 일이 아닌 장래의 범죄에 대한 예방의 효과도 가지고 있음을 인식하는 것도 중요하겠다. 데이트폭력은 사회 내에서 인식하는 심각성의 정도에 비해서 연구가 부족하며, 이에 따라 입법적인 미비점도 있는 현실이다. 이 연구에서 데이트폭력 가해행동에 미치는 영향요인 대해 분석한 것은 데이트폭력 예방을 위한 정책의 마련에 큰 의미가 있다.
Abstract
Dating violence has become a serious issue among the couple along with traditional domestic violence. Given this situation, this study aims to provide political implication on dating violence prevention through quantitative research. The variables of this study have grounds on previous study that explain dating violence offence. Sexual abuse and alcohol abuse were adopted to explain college student's strain factors, and criminal history was set as a mediating variable. The model of this study examines how strain factors such as sexual abuse and alcohol abuse and their criminal history affects offence of dating violence. Outcomes of the study are as followings. First, how often they experience sexual abuse before 18 years of age and how often they have excessive drinking affects their offence of dating violence. Second, criminal history, the mediating variable, shows that it positively affects offence of dating violence. It implies that the previous study which were to explain offence of domestic violence and other violence can be applied to explain offence of dating violence as well and student who experience more sexual abuse can have higher criminal record and more offence of dating violence. Thus, it suggest that new efforts onto current policy and program can be a measure to prevent dating violence include sexual abuse victims and other crime ex- convict.
