청소년 사이버불링 유형화 연구: 상담가 의견을 중심으로

초록

스마트폰 보급률의 증가로 오프라인에서의 전통적 학교폭력보다 온라인 공간에서의 신종 사이버불링이 더욱 심각한 사회 문제로 대두되고 있다. 인터넷 공간과 SNS 등의 전자매체를 활용한 간접적인 사이버 상의 괴롭힘 수법을 정확히 이해하고, 각 개별 유형에 적합한 개별화된 범죄 예방 대책이 시급한 상황이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 최근 청소년들 사이에서 많이 나타나고 있는 카카오톡 왕따(카따), 카카오톡 감옥(카톡감옥), 와이파이(WiFi) 셔틀 등의 새로운 사이버불링 실태를 조사하여 우리나라 상황에 적합한 청소년 사이버불링 유형화를 시도하는데 주안점을 둔다. 자료 수집을 위해 온라인에서 청소년을 상대로 학교폭력 피해상담 업무를 담당하는 실무자(열린 의사회 소속 상다미쌤 상담자) 일곱 명을 상대로 2013년 8월에 면담을 실시하였다. 상담 전문가들이 기술한 55개의 청소년 사이버불링 사례를 바탕으로 온라인에서 이루어지는 10개의 행동 특징(ID도용, 사진변조, 루머유포, 익명성 등)을 기준으로 활용하여 각 개별 사례를 재코딩하는 과정을 거쳤다. 한국형 사이버불링 유형화를 위해 탐색적 요인분석(exploratory factor analysis)을 실시한 결과, 10개의 사이버불링 수법이 (1)익명성 콘텐츠 유포형, (2)집단적 모욕형, (3)루머 유포형, (4)지속적 재산 갈취형의 네 가지 형태로 구분되었다. 향후 이런 결과를 토대로 사이버불링 개별 유형에 적합한 세분화된 범죄 예방 및 피해자 지원 대책이 필요하다고 본다. 이하 본문에서 사이버불링 개념 정의 및 유형과 관련된 내용을 본문에서 상세히 다루도록 한다.

Abstract

The present study aims for exploring the categories of cyberbullying behaviors in South Korea. By utilizing factor analysis, the current study focuses on identifying crucial factors that can classify the various methods of cyberbullying. Cyberbullying by teenage boys and girls have recently dramatically increased while the traditional bullying such as robbery and assault in school boundaries have reduced according to the statistics of NIA in Korea. This study conducted in-depth interview with seven professional counselors who had experienced in helping and supporting offenders and victims of school violence through online to guarantee the confidentiality of youths. The seven interviewees revealed 55 cases of cyberbullying victimization documents which were written on the school violence prevention internet site which is called “Sangdami Sam” in Korea. Factor analysis was used for grouping similar criminal methods by relying on ten criteria of techniques of committing cyberbullying. The ten criteria were drawn from the previous relevant researches regarding the systematic measurement scales of cyberbullying behaviors. The result showed that there were four categories of cyberbulling such as (1) contents dissemination based on anonymity, (2) confederate insult, (3) sexual rumor spread, (4) habitual extortion. Further policy implication will be discussed.
