Structured Relationships of Collective Efficacy, Disorder and Crime Fear: Focus on Moderating Effect of Prevention-Oriented Policing

본 연구는 통합적 관점에서 집합효율성, 범죄두려움 그리고 무질서의 구조적 관계를 확인하고, 집합효율성, 범죄두려움 그리고 무질서의 인과관계에서 예방중심경찰활동의 조절효과를 분석하여 범죄예방의 실효성을 검증하는데 목적이 있다. 분석결과를 종합해 보면 집합효율성이 긍정적 방향으로 증가하면 무질서는 감소하며, 무질서가 부정적 방향으로 증가하면 범죄두려움 역시 증가하였다. 반면 집합효율성과 범죄두려움의 관계에서는 유의미한 인과관계가 검증되지 않았다. 다음으로 무질서의 매개효과는 통계적으로 유의미하였으며, 예방중심경찰활동에 따른 집합효율성, 무질서 및 범죄두려움 간의 조절효과를 분석한 결과, 예방중심경찰활동은 무질서와 범죄두려움의 관계를 조절하는 것으로 증명되었다.
Abstract
The objective of this study is to verify the effectiveness on crime prevention by verifying the structural relations of collective efficacy, fear of crime, and disorder, and then to analyze the moderating effects of prevention-centered police activities on the causal relations of collective efficacy, fear of crime, and disorder. In the results of the analysis, when the collective efficacy positively increased, the disorder decreased. When the disorder negatively increased, the fear of crime also increased. On the other hand, there was no significant causality in the relation between collective efficacy and fear of crime. Next, the mediating effects of disorder were statistically significant. In the results of analyzing the moderating effects of prevention-centered police activities on the relations of collective efficacy, disorder, and fear of crime, the prevention-centered police activities moderated the relation between disorder and fear of crime.
