난폭운전 경향에 대한 연구: 오토바이 운전자와 승용차 운전자의 비교를 중심으로

난폭운전에 대한 선행연구들은 법률규정대로 난폭운전을 정의하고 일반승용차 운전자를 주 연구대상으로 한정하여 논의가 진행되었다. 즉, 모든 운전자들을 일반 승용차 운전자와 동일하게 취급하고 법규 위반이 아닌 운전경향이나 태도로써의 난폭운전을 고려하지 못한 한계가 있다. 이 연구에서는 오토바이 운전자의 난폭운전 경향을 분석하여 이해의 폭을 넓히고자 하였다. 온라인 패널 조사를 통해 총 1,215명(오토바이 운전자 307명, 일반운전자 908명)의 응답결과를 분석하였고, 난폭운전을 운전태도를 반영하는 경향성 점수로 구성하였다. 분석결과, 오토바이 운전자들은 일반 승용차 운전자에 비해 더 위험하고 난폭한 운전태도를 보였다. 남성 운전자가 여성에 비해, 운전 중 익명성 보장정도가 높다고 인식할수록 난폭운전 경향이 높은 것은 모든 운전자에게서 동일하게 나타났다. 그러나, 오토바이 운전자들은 교통위반 전력이, 일반운전자들은 시간압박이 난폭운전 경향에 영향을 미치는 요인이라는 차이가 있었다. 이 연구에서는 오토바이 운전자의 높은 난폭운전 경향을 실증적으로 밝혔다는 점에서, 그리고 구별된 특성을 반영한 교통안전 정책의 수립의 기초자료를 제공하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
Abstract
Previous research on aggressive/reckless driving has defined them as an act of violation g laws and regulations, and understanding is restricted on general car drivers. In other words, previous studies have limitations in treating all drivers as one homogeneous group and not reflecting that reckless/aggressive driving as a driving tendency or attitude which is not a simple violation of the law. In this study, we tried to broaden our understanding by analyzing the reckless driving tendencies of motorcyclists. Through an online panel survey, the response results of a total of 1,215 people (307 motorcycle drivers, 908 car drivers) were analyzed, and reckless driving was configured as a tendency score reflecting unsafe driving attitude. It was found that motorcycle drivers have more dangerous and reckless driving attitudes than car drivers. Male drivers, the higher the anonymity while driving, the higher the reckless driving tendency. However, there was a difference between motocylists and car drivers on the impact of traffic violation history and time pressure. This study is significant in that it empirically revealed the high reckless driving tendency of motorcyclists and provided basic data for the establishment of traffic safety policies that reflected the distinctive characteristics among drivers.
