부모의 양육태도가 가족응집성과 청소년의 자존감에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 부모의 양육태도가 가족응집성과 청소년의 자존감에 미치는 영향을 확인함으로써 청소년들의 자존감 향상을위한 사회적 지지프로그램 개발에 기초자료를 제공하고자 시도되었다. 연구대상으로 서울 및 경기도의 11개 고등학교 1,299명에게조사한 결과 가족응집성에 대한 회귀분석에서 아버지의 양육태도, 어머니의 양육태도가 모두 가족응집성에 유의한 정적인영향을 미치고 있었으며 7개의 통제변수 중에서는 성은 가족응집성에 부정적 영향을 보여 남학생보다 여학생이 가족응집성이 더 낮음을 보였고, 종교가 있는 경우가 가족응집성에 정적영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 가족응집성에 대한 어머니의 양육태도, 아버지의 양육태도, 종교, 성별 등 모두는 가족 응집성의 26.0%를 설명하고 있었다. 자존감에 대한 영향을 보면, 가족응집성이 가장 크게 영향을미치는 변인으로 나타났으며 그 다음이 어머니의 양육태도, 아버지의 양육태도, 종교, 학교유형 순으로 나타났다. 이 모두는학생들의 자존감을 19.9% 를 설명하고 있었다. 결론적으로 본 연구결과에서 부모의 양육태도가 가족응집성에 영향을 미치고, 청소년의 자존감에는 부모의 양육태도보다가족응집성이 더 큰 영향력이 있는 것으로 나타난 것을 볼 때청소년의 자존감에 미치는 부모의 양육태도나 가족응집성의중요성이 본 연구를 통하여 다시 한 번 확인되었다고 볼 수 있었으며 동시에 우리나라의 인문계 및 실업계고등학교의 현실을 파악할 수 있었다고 보인다. 한편 전반적으로 아버지의 양육태도는 그 영향력이 미미하거나 나타나지 않은 것은 재확인해야 하는 중요한 결과로 사료되었다. 본 연구는 서울 및 경기도 일부지역의 고등학생들을 조사한것으로서 본 연구 결과를 확대해석할 수 없으므로 반복 연구가필요하며 반복 연구 시 부모와 자녀인 청소년을 동시에 짝 표본으로 표집하여 부모의 양육태도와 가족응집성이 자녀들의 자존감에 어떠한 실질적 영향을 미치고 있는지를 조사해보는 것은 의미가 있을 것이다.
Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of parents rearing attitude on family cohesion and adolescents' self-esteem. Methods: The participants were 1,299 high school students from Seoul city and Kyunggi Province in Korea. Data were collected using self-report questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficients, stepwise regression with SPSS 14.0 win program. Results: The major results are as follows. First,parents rearing attitude was significantly influence to the family cohesion. Second, parents rearing attitude and family cohesion were significantly affect to the adolescent self- esteem. Third, compare the influence size between the parents rearing attitude and family cohesion to the adolescent self- esteem, the family cohesion was higher than the parents rearing attitude. Conclusion: The finding may provide useful insight to researchers who want to develop social support program for adolescents. Third, when the influence size between parents’ child attitudes and family cohesion as influencing adolescent self-esteem were compared, the results showed that family cohesion had a greater influence than parents’ child rearing attitudes. Conclusion: The findings may provide useful insights to researchers who want to develop social support program for adolescents.
