중년여성의 자존감 향상을 위하여 사티어 변형 체계적 치료를 적용한 상담사례연구

본 연구는 40대 중년 여성의 우울과 두려움에 영향을 미친 요인을 살펴보고 이를 해결하기 위한 방법으로서 사티어 변형 체계적 치료의 효과성을 살펴보고자 하였다. 내담자는 남편의 지시적, 일방적, 역기능적 의사소통으로 인한 우울, 두려움의 증상을 호소하며 상담을 의뢰, 2010년 8월-2010년 11월까지 총11회기 상담의 상담축어록, 상담보고서, 가족치료전공자와의 논문세미나, 사티어의 빙산을 분석 도구로 하여 상담사례연구를 하였다. 분석 결과, 내담자의 증상에 영향을 미친 요인은 원가족 내 부모의 엄격한 규칙, 일방적인 의사소통, 부모의 무관심, 정서적 지지와 결핍에 따른 것으로, 치료를 통하여 내담자의 긍정적 자원의 발견, 역기능적 의사소통 및 대처방식의 변화, 원가족에 대한 인식의 재구조화, 가족체계 내 하위체계의 변화, 의사소통의 일치적 변화, 가족규칙과 신념의 변화, 삶의 인식에 대한 재경험, 더 높은 자존감을 갖는 변화 등이 나타났다.
Abstract
This case study examined the effectiveness of 11 sessions of Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy with a depressed, fearful woman in her 40s, married to a commanding man with incongruent communication. The therapist, herself a woman in her 40s, used Satir’s iceberg metaphor as a tool of analysis, which helped reveal the connection between the client’s symptoms and the strict parental rules within her family of origin, one-sided incongruent communication on the part of her husband, parental indifference, and triangulation caused by a lack of emotional support. During treatment, the client’s positive resources were discovered, which helped change her incongruent communication and coping stances, along with family rules and beliefs; restructured her perceptions of her family of origin; changed sub-systems within the family system; and increased her self-esteem, resulting in a renewed perspective on life. The article connects the changes in the client with changes in communication that the therapist herself made.
