[Abstract] A Study on the Principle of Law related to Money in Civil Law Kyoungjin Choi In this thesis I reviewed legal problems related to money what has not only tangible feature but intangible feature at the same time. Especially I focused on whether money or electronic money can be Res and the status of its in civil law. With regard to the discussion whether money is Res or not, jurist grasp it as Res or Value. Then I found the concept of Res under Korean Civil Act as an abstract legal concept encompassing tangibles and intangibles. Also, about the requirement to be Res, I separated it into General requirement which is applicable to Res in general, and Special requirement which is applicable to object of ownership or obligation. So I pointed out that whether money can be protected under the Law of Realty is under the control of whether be specified or. I also considered electronic money from the viewpoint of intangible as value.
