Colaizzi’s phenomenological method was used to analyze the data. Results: In this study, eleven theme clusters and four categories were generated. The four categories consisted of “Searching for one's identity in desperation”, “Living as a Korean to the root”, “Adapting and accepting in the course of life”, and “Assimilating into local culture by learning ways to adapt faster”. Conclusion: This study used a phenomenological research method to reveal the essence of acculturation experiences of Korean nurses working in the U. S. This study will help improve our understanding of the life of Korean-American registered nurses and provide basic data for building efficient acculturation strategies in response to healthcare globalization.
