초록
Web Real-Time Communication (WebRTC) is a leading technology among various research efforts that enables the exchange of multimedia data, such as audio, video, and text, in peer-to-peer (P2P) manner between two web browsers or mobile applications. It offers several benefits, including the elimination of dependency on third-party plug-ins, automatic adaptation to network performance with Quality of Service (QoS) guarantees, and encryption of communications. While WebRTC supports only P2P communication, it poses challenges for services like Medical Multimedia, P2PRadio, Conference, and P2PTV. In this paper, we study the architecture and prototype implementation of a P2PTV service based on WebRTC. The prototype was developed without a Streaming Server, and the user interface captures video through a web camera. SIP messages are processed using SIP-JS. Through a tree-based overlay structure, users can request the same channel and receive distributed information. The bandwidth evaluation results indicate that the number of bits transmitted to users does not exceed 2.0 Mbps, and the bandwidth can be adjusted by modifying the SDP content.
