Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the informatization initiatives of Asian Countries and the government's IT policy. The Information age is creating profound changes in the way we live and work. It is transforming all aspects of society, stimulating new opportunities. Great headway has also been made in the development of basic IT technologies, mobile telephone, IPv6, FTTH, and ubiquitous network. Korea, Japan, China, and India have successfully carried out most of the goals of the informatization initiatives. and are now ready to move ahead to the second phase of IT strategy through new grand visions. Over the past decade, Asian countries have deliberately prepared itself to meet the new challenges of the information age. So, Korea, Japan, China, and India became important player in shaping world IT industry. Asian countries has liberalized finance and telecommunications system in an effort to bring in more business, and has revamped education curriculums to encourage more creativity among students.
