포스트모더니즘에 있어서의 모든 지식은 그 성격과 구조에 있어서 탈영토화된다. 이러한 상황은 다른 학문 분야에 못지않게 조직론에도 적용된다. 우리들이 이해하고 있는 가정들의 제 그리드와 코드는 제거된다. 탈영토화는 포스트모더니즘적 상황이 갖는 제 함의가 사고와 연구를 위해 인정받을 때 실현될 것이다. 과학은 많은 담론들 중 하나의 담론이라고 여겨질 경우, 사고의 특성은 변화할 것이다. 포스트모더니즘적 상황에서는 과학적 연구는 인식론적으로 특권적인 우월적 정보를 제공하는 者라는 지위를 잃게 될 것이다. 이 점은 조직이론, 자연주의적(혹은 구성주의적) 연구, Deleuze의 탈영토화, 그리고 老子의 曲則全의 입장에서 이루어지고 있는 일부 탈실증주의자의 연구를 검토함으로써 예증되는 것이다.
Abstract
All knowledge in postmodernism is deterritorialized in terms of character and structure. This situation applies no less to organization theory than to other disciplines. The grids or codes of assumptions that are imposed on our understanding are removed. Deterritorializetion will be realized when the implications of postmodern circumstances are recognized for thinking and for inquiries. The character of thinking will change when science is regarded as one discourse among many discourses. In the postmodern situation, scientific inquiry will lose its status as a provider of epistemologically privileged information. This point is illustrated by examining some postpositivist work now being undertaken in terms of organization theory, naturalistic(or constructivist) inquiry, Deleuze’s deterritorialization, and Lao-tzu’s 「Bent over then preserved whole」.
