한 학문분야의 연구의 질을 향상시키고, 연구를 수행하거나 비판할 수 있는 연구의 저변을 확대하기 위해서는 연구방법론의 견실한 교육이 매우 중요하다고 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 국내 문헌정보학 석사과정에서의 연구방법론 교육의 현황과 특성을 분석하고, 연구방법론 교육의 질적 향상을 위한 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 문헌정보학 석사과정이 개설된 국내 22개 문헌정보학과 및 도서관학과를 대상으로 연구방법론 교육의 개설현황, 특성과 동향을 분석하고, 미국 문헌정보학 석사과정 교육과정과 비교하여 향후 연구방법론 교육에 대한 방안을 제시하고자 하였다.
Abstract
Research methods is an integral component of a field and plays a crucial role for the development of a field. Three areas are explored to assess research methods in Korean library and information science (LIS) graduate programs: (1) comparison of research methods' courses across Korean LIS graduate programs; (2) content analysis of the trend of research methods education; (3) comparison of research methods' courses between the U.S. and Korean library and information science graduate programs.
