Abstract
This study aims to develop a university life adaptation program for students returning to college after completing mandatory military service. Based on the Interactive Model of Program Planning proposed by Caffarella and Daffron, the program was designed around 11 key components: context, support, needs assessment, goals and objectives, instruction, learning transfer, evaluation, scheduling, budgets, marketing, details. To derive the content for each component, the study analyzed existing university support programs for returning students, reviewed literature related to student veterans, and conducted surveys with learners and stakeholders, along with expert interviews. Through these procedures, the study developed the "University Life Adaptation Support Program for Students Discharged from Mandatory Military Service," which includes multidimensional content such as academics, career development, and interpersonal relationships. In addition, it suggests strategies to promote learner engagement and facilitate learning transfer, such as academic credit recognition, scholarship links, and project-based contests. This study is expected to serve as a foundational resource for supporting the holistic growth and successful adjustment of student veterans in higher education and to make a practical contribution to the development of university policies supporting such students.
