Study on Law for The Capital Market Structure Restructuring

<ABSTRACT> Study on Law for The Capital Market Structure Restructuring Na Sug Jin* Government push the restructuring of capital market : the Koera Stock Exchange, Korea Futures Exchange and KOSDAQ market. The purpose of this consolidation is to make efficient capital market structure. In January 2004, the law for capital market restructuring(The Korea Stock-Futures Exchange Law, The Amended Securities Exchange Law, The amended Futures Exchange Law etc.) get through The National Assembly. The important contents of capital market restructuring is demutualization of Korea Stock Exchange and Korea Futures Exchange, consolidation of capital market. This paper examines the progress and contents of discussion, raises several points and propose an alternative plan. This paper consists of the following chapters : Chapter Ⅱ describes the current structure and operation of the Korea capital market, and problems. Chaper Ⅲ focuses on the contents of capital structure restructuring, matters of law for the capital structure restructuring. Chapter Ⅳ details the problems that must be further examined, proposes an alternative plan that is necessary to promote the efficiency of capital market.
