Abstract

This thesis tried to discuss the meanings and its types of Fantasy literature in the Genetic Developmental Basis. In this point of view, Fantasy literature is an important aesthetic device of Postmodernism to criticize contradiction of information-oriented society and head for the world of identity that human and nature unite. Through forming its world by fantasy, Fantasy literature criticizes the devastation and desolation of information-oriented society, and intents to point the world of identity. Applying to this point of view, Fantasy literature is divided into two types, that is to say, the fantastic of Fantasy Literature and the fantastic of Multimedia. The former criticizes contradiction of information-oriented society and heads for the world of identity that human unites with nature. In the latter, The fantastic is to borrow blindly Multimedia imagination that information-oriented society controls. As a result, the latter doesn't criticise contradiction of its society. On the contrary, the latter strengthens control system of its society. Today's Fantasy literature must have a correct understanding of its essential meanings and carry out its duties very competently. If so, Today's Fantasy literature will have a significant meanings in the history of Korean literature.
