Abstract
This study aims to reveal the ideology of the 'Writers Association for Consoling Japanese Army'(WACJA.: 皇軍慰問作家團) and literary historical significance of Im, Hak-Su's The Collection of Poems on the Battle line (CPBL: 戰線詩集). When the three envoys came back to Seoul, Park, Young-hi wrote Travel Sketch of the Battle line(prose) and Im Hak-Su wrote CPBL(verse). Famous writer and pro-Japanese thinker Lee, Gwang-Su ones said CPBL is the first and the best pro-Japanese literature in colonial Korea. CPBL actually shows why Koreans have to serve Japanese imperialist and why Japanese Army have to win in Chinese-Japanese War. It is mainly because of Im, Hak-Su thought Korea and Japan is common root as well as common destiny. This study analyzes CPBL and inspects why so many Korean writers and poets have converted their faith to Korean nationalism.
