학교사회복지분야에서의 사회복지 현장실습교육의 실태와 과제 -학교상주형을 중심으로-

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to investigate field placement of social work students in schools where school social work or education welfare programs were running. Research questions included how school social work field practicum was under way in schools, why some schools did not provide field placement opportunities, what were the difficulties of school social workers in educating field practicum students, and what characteristics of schools and school social workers were related to becoming a field placement site. A survey was conducted with 115 school social workers or community education specialists who were working at schools in Seoul, Inchon, and Kyungi areas. It was found that the percentage of schools which became school social work field placement sites out of 115 schools was 18.3% and it was especially low among the schools running education welfare programs. The schools in Inchon or Kyungi rather than Seoul, with more students, and with longer program experiences were more likely to become field placement sites. Those of which school social workers had longer working experiences in previous and current schools and had a school social worker certificate were more likely to provide field practicum opportunities to social work students. School social workers who did not provide or did not have a future plan to provide field placement reported lack of understanding of school administrators about school social work field placement, lack of their competence as a field practicum supervisor, pressure to provide good supervision, and excessive workload as reasons why they did not accept social work students for field practicum. The result implied how the school social work field placement could contribute to the education for the future school social workers.
