FTA 체결에 따른 국내 서비스 경쟁력 향상을 위한 디자인 활용방안 연구 -국내 저가항공사 사례를 중심으로-

오늘날 영국, 미국 등 선진국의 국내총생산(GDP)에서 70% 이상을 서비스 산업이 차지하고 있다. 국내에서도 그 비중은 매년 증가하고 있으며, 유럽, 미국과의 자유무역협정(FTA) 체결로 인하여 서비스산업에 대한 경쟁력 강화가 요구되고 있다. 이러한 변화 속에서 대표적인 서비스산업 중 하나인 항공 산업 또한 변하고 있으며, 그 결과 니치마켓을 중심으로 한 새로운 비즈니스 모델인 저가항공사가 탄생하였다. 초기에 설립된 국내 저가항공사는 가격을 위하여 일부 서비스를 포기한 결과 국내 소비자들에게 외면당하였다. 하지만 그 이후 새로운 서비스를 개발한 결과 2011년에는 저가항공사의 국내선 분담 비율이 40%를 넘는 성공을 거두었다. 본 연구는 이러한 국내의 저가항공사의 디자인 사례를 분석하여 자유무역협정 체결에 따른 서비스 경쟁력 향상을 준비 중인 기획자와 디자이너들에게 활용방안을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 연구의 방법은 국내 저가 항공사 5곳을 대상으로 문헌연구방법과 사례연구방법을 중심으로 진행되었다. 연구결과 국내 저가항공사의 서비스디자인 사례는 4가지로 분류가 되었으며, 이를 바탕으로 서비스 경쟁력 향상을 위한 3가지의 디자인 활용방안을 도출해 내었다.
Abstract
Today, GDP of developed countries such as the United Kingdom, the United States and so on in the services industry accounted for more than 70%. The proportion is increasing every year and as the result of FTA with EU and America, the service sector is required to strengthen the competitiveness in domestic. In these changes, the airline industry which is one of the leading service industries is also changing. Consequently, low-cost airlines have emerged as a new airline business model which focuses on niche markets. The early part of the domestic LCC had eliminated some services for the prices and it result consumers to turn away. Since then, however, new services had developed and domestic flights passed 40 percent in its share in 2011. The purpose of this study is to provide suggestions to planner and designer for service upgrade through analysis of service design case in domestic low cost airlines. The research method is documentary and example survey about five discount aviations. The result of analysis shows that design for service instances of inexpensive freight were classified into four categories and three kind of design planning for service improvement.
