홍대 지역은 흔히 ‘젊음, 자유로움, 개성'을 떠올리게 하는 곳이다. 2000년대 중반부터 급격한 상업화를 겪었으며, 최근엔 관광지로 유명해져 명실상부한 서울의 주요 상권으로 자리 잡았다. 젠트리피케이션(Gentrification)의 영향으로 과거의 이색적인 모습은 많이 사라졌지만, 아직까지 홍대 앞의 ‘걷고 싶은 거리’에서는 거리 공연들을 쉽게 볼 수 있고, 주말이면 이를 구경하는 사람들로 인산인해를 이룬다. 하지만 홍대가 생활 기반인 이들에게 버스킹은 상권 침해나 소음을 비롯한 피해를 유발하는 골칫거리다. 그리고 이에 대한 적절한 법적, 행정적 규제가 아직 이루어지지 않고 있다. 본 연구는 모바일 커뮤니티 기반의 서비스 디자인을 제안하며, 궁극적으로 지역 사회와 공존하는 버스킹 문화를 지향한다. 따라서 관찰 조사, 심층 인터뷰, 이해관계자 모델링 등 UX 방법론을 통해 홍대 앞 버스킹의 현황 및 문제점들을 분석했다. 이후 프로토타이핑과 사용성 테스트를 단계별로 실시하여 현 버스킹 문제를 개선하는 서비스를 기획, 디자인하고, 검증했다. 결과적으로 본 연구가 국내 버스킹 실태에 대한 이해, 버스커들의 자정적 노력과 함께하는 버스킹 문화의 발전에 기여할 것으로 기대한다.
Abstract
Hongdae reminds us of youth, freedom, and uniqueness. Since the mid 2000s, it has become really commercialized and be famous for its tourist attraction and larg shopping area. Even though gentrification affected to change original, interesting places, we can see busking easily on Hongdae walking street until now. The street crowded with people who enjoy it every weekend. Busking is a great sightworthy show for people visiting Hongdae. Even though it causes infringement of commercial supremacy and noises for residents of Hongdae, the authority has enforced neither legal nor administrative regulation appropriately. The objective of this study is to solve those community problems incurred by immature busking performances. This study proposes a service design based on mobile community function, pursuing positive busking culture coexisting with local society. This study also diagnosed current situation of busking in Hongdae through field observation, contextual inquiry, affinity diagram and modeling. The service for improving busking problems was designed and verified with phased prototyping and usability test. As a result, it can contribute to understanding current Korean busking reality, and development of busking culture with self-purification by buskers.
