본 연구에서는 현재 강원도내에서 조업하고 있거나 강원도 내로 이전 중인 의료기기생산업체 업체들에 대한 현장방문조사를 통하여 강원도 의료기기생산업체의 일반현황과 업체간 네트워크, 도내의 의료기기 산업 관련 각종 기업지원 서비스 현황 등에 대한 기초조사를 진행하였다. 여기서 얻어진 데이터를 근거로 강원도 소재 의료기기생산업체들 간에 집적의 경제(economies of agglomeration)가 발생하는 메카니즘을 실증적으로 파악하고 어떤 방식으로 의료기기 클러스터를 형성하고 운영해야 역내 의료기기생산업체들의 생산성과 경쟁력 제고에 효과적으로 기여할 수 있는지를 분석하여 효과적인 클러스터링을 위한 전략적 고려 사항들을 제시하였다.
Abstract
In this study, we interviewed the managers of the businesses classified as medical instrument and supplies industry in Gangwon Province, in order to understand the general characteristics of the industry, the network among the businesses, and the current status of various business services catering this industry. Using the data gathered from our survey, we analyzed the mechanism through which the economies of agglomeration manifest itself. Based on our analysis, we propose tips for successful strategies of clustering the businesses in the medical instrument and supplies industry located in Gangwon Province.
