이 글은 오정희 소설의 특성이 삶을 바라보는 독특한 시선과 그것이 구현되는 서술이라고 보는 데서 출발하며, 초기 작품 중에서 결혼한 여성의 삶을 제재로 삼는 소설을 대상으로 살핀다. 오정희가 여성의 경험을 서사화시키는 방식은 존재론적 탐색으로 해석할 가능성을 열어놓고 있다. 오정희 소설에서 표층층위의 서술 분석과 심층층위에서 분석되는 대립항들을 인식론적 측면과 연관지어 읽어냄으로써 주제 구현 방식을 밝힐 수 있다고 본다. 오정희 소설은 현재라는 시간성의 인식으로 존재론적 탐색을 하고 있으며, 일인칭 서술에서 서술자아보다 경험자아가 우세하게 서술되고, 현재형 시제나 내적 독백 서술로 비중개성의 환상을 주는 서술전략을 사용한다. 또한 상호모순적인 시각을 열려진 채로 드러내는 오정희 소설의 애매함은 오정희가 세계나 대상을 인식하는 원리이면서 기법이라고 할 수 있다. 오정희 소설은 여성의 경험과 그에 따른 인식을 비중개성의 환상을 일으키는 서술전략이나 상호모순적인 시각을 함께 제시하는 방식을 사용함으로써 독자가 함께 체험하게 하는 방식으로 페미니즘을 구현하는 것으로 생각될 수 있다. 페미니즘이 남성대 여성의 대립이 아니라 존재론적 실존으로 느껴지게 하는 방식이 오정의 소설의 시학이 될 수 있으리라고 한다. 오정희 소설의 서술과 인식론적 특성 분석을 통한 이러한 시도가 오정의 소설의 페미니즘적 특성을 밝히는 하나의 방법이 될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
This study has the viewpoint that the traits of Oh, Jung-Hee's novels are her peculiar view on life and its narration. And the subject novels of this study are her early novels, taking married women's lives as its material. Oh, Jung-Hee's narrative style for a woman's experience suggests a possibility that the style could be analyzed as a ontological search. In her works, the ways for realization of the theme can be done by reading the coordinate terms in the analysis of the narration on superficial level and deeper level in terms of ontological view. Her novels suggest a way for the ontological search by way of recognition of the time, present. In the first person narrative, a narrating-I is dominant over a experiencing-I and the narrative strategy is used which yields an illusion of immediacy with present tense or interior monologue. In addition, the vagueness of the novels, which leave mutual-contradictory viewpoint open, is a principle and method for her to interpret world or things. The novels use women's experiences and their recognitions as a narrative strategy yielding an illusion of immediacy and mutual-contradictory viewpoint so that the readers can feel the experiences as well and the feminism can be realized. The way which makes the feminism understood not as a conflict between men and women but as a ontological reality, is the prosody of her novels. The attempt to analyze the narration and traits of the novels can be a way to clarify the feministic traits of her novels.
