Abstract
This paper investigates the rank system of uniforms of offidals' wives of Oing dynasty. As the research document. Oing-Huidian- Tu has been used. The uniforms of offidals' wives of Oing dynasty were chao-fu(朝服). ji-fu(吉服) which were used in different occasions. Each of the two offidal uniforms had distinct items. Chao-fu(朝服) consisted of nine items: Chao-guan(朝冠), Chao-pao(朝袍), Chao-gua(朝科), Chao-qun(朝裙) Chao-zhu(朝珠), Jin-yao(金約), Ling-yao(領約), Er-shi(耳飾), and Cai-shui). Ji-fu(吉服) consisted of four items: Ji-fu-guan(吉服冠), Long-pao(龍袍), Ji-fu-gua(吉服科). and Chao-zhu(朝珠). Each of these items had elements that made distinction between ranks. This research shows that the elements to make distinction between ranks were colors, predous stones, patterns. textiles, and shapes.
