한국의 혼례문화와 혼례복식의 특성

Abstract

A wedding is one of the most productive ceremonies in the sense that people deliver tradition and the ways of their lives. Our traditional wedding culture was established by the influence of Confucianism, and then transformed into the current shape by western ideas. Those western ideas made wedding more convenient and easy, on the other hand, they took away assets of traditional wedding such as the social connotations and traditional spirits. Western mores which are in full flow increasingly threat traditional ways of life, and it brings a series of movements which underline conventional values. In accordance with this environment costume communities are trying to integrate traditional and modern ideas so that they can develope new designs and trends which can be applauded by the world. Since wedding costumes are one of the most important apparels, this study is aimed at understanding wedding apparels and tracing the history and changes of their social connotations.
