일제 강점기 光州面의 景觀變化에 관한 연구 : 광주면 鄕社里를 중심으로

Abstract

This study aims at investigating how the landscape of Hyangsari, Gwangjumyon, had changed along with landholding and landuse during the Japanese Occupation. Hyangsari was sectioned by the Gwangjucheon(stream) from the city's center, which made it different from the other areas being a inclination and a forest field. Hyangsari is the area where Gwangju Hyanggyo(a local old-time school belonging to the Confucian shrine) and Sajigdan are located today. During Japanese Occupation, the first park, Googang-gongwon(park), was built around the by Gwangju Beonyounghoi. The fields became the grounds with urbanization and increasing population. According to the development plans of the urban district in 1920s, Gwangju-cheon was narrowed down and straightened, and the roads were built along the stream. In addition, Sajeong-sijnag(market) and curtilage were created. Sajeong-sijang moved into Yangdong-sijang when Gwagju-sinsa(Japanese shrine) was raised to a higher status in 1937. In the early Japanese colonial period, Hyangsari had an agricultural landscape around Gwangju Hyanggyo. Later, a park was created and Sinsa was built on that area, which made its landscape different a lot. The development plans of urban district to straighten the Gwangju-cheon and to create Sajeong-sijang and a residential site had brought the landscape of this area a big change.
