With medical developments and improvements in basic necessities of life resulting in longer life expectancy and population aging, the "new sliver generation," is being resulted from rapid economic growth, possesses the money and the healthful body to form a new group of consumers. This older generation is growingly participating in social activities and their needs for slacks are also growing for their active lifestyle. However, pattern studies utilizing industrial patternmaking technology only evolves the age group of women between their 20's and 30's and slack pattern studies for the older generations hardly exist, despite the importance of industrial patternmaking being increasingly magnified in the modern society, where wearing ready-to-wear clothes is the norm. Also, 3D body scan technology is being used in various aspects of apparel industry and in dress evaluation studies done with cross-sectional diagrams of dressed body and human body forms in apparel related studies as well as being used for fit analysis by 3D scan data. Hence, this study proceeded fit analysis, using 3D body scanner that is being used widely in apparel industry, to develop a practical and visually beautiful slack pattern based on industrial patterns targeting the young old women’s group.
