통신사 수행 마상재(馬上才)의 공연 복식

This paper is to consider the performance costume of masangjae and property, based on the related masangjae literature to accompanying Tongsinsa. and paintings in Joseon and Japan. The result is as follows; Masangjae refers to handicrafts exercising the talent on horse or person exercising handicrafts. Masangjae was participated in as Tongsinsa attendant, total seven times from exercising in 1636 to exercising in 1763(except for missions in 1655). Joseon tried to provide the best performance showing off martial skill of Joseon via performance of masangjae, and supplied clothes⋅horse⋅saddle⋅cost of exercising, etc. to masangjae. Masangjae put on military uniform of Jeolrip(氈笠), Hyup-su(挾袖), kwaeja(快子), and Yodae(腰帶)⋅Jeondae(纏帶)⋅Hansamju(汗衫紬), etc. basically for performing. The shape of Jeolrip is narrow and high top of satgat, and has jeongja and sangmo ornament on top. Also, it has Ip-yeong(笠纓) decoration of jade(玉)⋅crystal(水 晶), etc. For Hyup-su and kwaeja, it has made with complementary color(補色) and glossy high class silk so as to maximize aesthetic and performance effect as performance costume, unlike military uniform. Color was used green⋅scarlet, etc., and material was done seondan(縇段)⋅daereung(大綾)⋅silk(錦), and so on. Regarding masangjae, it has girded mangryongdan(蟒龍段) Yodae and nambangju(藍方紬) Jeondae. Mangryongdan Yodae is the direct mark for utmost attention of royal court concerning performance costume of masangjae
