한 몽 백색 상징에 관한 연구

Abstract

A general idea of color comes from the relationship between light and humans. Therefore, in modern life, the essence of color is treated as physical and optical approach. Also, the essence and symbolism of each color is highly appreciated in Color Culture that is based on region and the race.White color is an achromatic color. However, in this research, the meaning of a white color is not a matter of the approach of chromatic study but the meaning of natural white (off white). White color brings about the color senses of lucid, pleasant, sacredness, nobleness, innocence, etc. However, there are many examples of characteristic color concept that depend on region and time period.The point of this research is to look over both countries’ ethnological characteristics and color sense by making a comparative study of the white colors indwelling concept of the Mongolian by documents and data for ethnic customs.In Korea, white color concept has heliolatry, expecting for long life, good and bad luck’s two contrasting sides and naturalism phenomena. In Mongolia, white color concept has original mythology, shamanism, the meanings of beginning and end ,the meaning of lucky omen and predominant concept.
