삼천리 그룹 윤리경영 사례: 윤리적 리더십이 조직 내 윤리풍토형성에 미치는 영향력 고찰

본 연구의 목적은 윤리적 조직풍토를 형성하는데 있어 윤리적 리더십의 역할을 살펴보고 윤리경영을 수행하기 위한 시사점을 기업에 제시하기 위함이다. 이를 위하여 국내종합에너지 기업인 삼천리 그룹의 사례를 분석하였다. 분석결과 삼천리 그룹은 신의와화합의 정신을 핵심으로 하는 창업주의 동업 경영 원칙을 바탕으로 경영자가 윤리적 리더십을 형성하고 있으며, 이러한 윤리적 리더십은 조직구성원들에게 강력한 역할 모델이 되어 조직구성원들이 경영활동에 있어서 윤리적 가치체계를 내재화하는 효과를 가지고 있다. 또한 후임 경영자가 창업주의 윤리적 리더십을 계승하여 동업자 관계를 지속하고 있는 점은 윤리적 조직풍토를 더욱 강화할 수 있는 원동력이 된다. 이와 같은 윤리적 리더십의 존재는 윤리적 조직풍토의 마지막 단계인 윤리적 선진단계로 빠르게 진입할 수 있게 하는 직접적인 선행요인이 된다는 점에서 윤리경영을 수행하는 경영자들에게 시사점을 제공한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of ethical leadership in development of ethical organizational climate and to provide best practice of forming ethical organizational climate for managers. For case study, I analyze the case of Samchully Group, domestic located energy company. Findings indicate that Samchully group has unique ethical leader based on the close partnership with faith and harmony spirit. Two co-founders’ close partnership become powerful role model for employees to internalize ethical value in their perception about company and in performing business activities. Also, succession of partnership by current co-CEOs becomes a driving force to strengthen ethical organizational climate of Samchully group. The findings of this study provide critical implications to business ethics manager in that ethical leadership makes it possible for company to jump into “the ethical organization” stage in a short period which is the last stage of corporate moral development model.
