초록

Korean NQ-ise, which enumerates event participants, provides a unique perspective on numeral quantification that has rarely been explored within the generative framework. This study distinguishes between two types of NQ-ise: non-floating and floating. Non-floating NQ-ise forms a constituent with a lexical NP, whereas floating NQ-ise adjoins to a null pronominal element PRO and functions adverbially. The analysis addresses constraints related to subjecthood and agentivity imposed on NQ-ise. Furthermore, the PRO analysis effectively accounts for the interpretive variability of floating NQ-ise,demonstrating exhaustive, split, and partial control. Floating NQ-ise is identified as a distinct subtype of adverbial floating quantifiers in Korean, differentiating it from Case-marked floating NQs, and is recognized as a type of control construction. Additionally, this study extends the analysis Korean NQ-ise to Japanese NQ-de.
