Abstract
This article is a research on birds in the point of literary thematic that appeared in classic poetry as classic ballad and Koryo ballad which are songs from the Koryo era, for its object. This article focuses to apprehend arguments which gives new meanings when viewed from the birds' prospective. In the ‘Yellow Bird Song(黃鳥歌)’, it became clear that King Yuri(琉璃王)'s nickname was Yuri, a bush warbler, which means that he was the ‘king of bush warbler’. With this known, a new prospect indicated that the relationship between him and his two queens can be explained as a pheasant and a hawk. In ‘Wharangsegi(花郞世紀)’, the ‘Blue Bird Song(滿殿春別詞)' indicated its possibility of counterfeit work by giving the similarities of birds' nature with blue bird song from future period. In a Koryo ballad Manjonchunbyulsa, the character Biori, may not be a man but actually a woman who have her man taken, was examined with this view in the relation to Chinese poetry. In ‘Tongtong(動動)’, the interpretation of ‘bundi tree’ with the help of interpretation of the bird Chinese bulbul, can be read as a hope of hundred years' of lifetime commitment and happiness between a husband and a wife. In ‘Jungkwajung(鄭瓜亭)’, the ‘juptong bird’ points out that a cuckoo and a Tukyun bird is coincided together. And examined the rhetoric method frequently used at the time among the people by the poem ‘Soakbu(小樂府)’ relating a chicken and a sparrow. Likewise, a harvest of unpredicted success came into view after the examination of birds in literary works.
