Abstract

The subject of Heungbujeon and Its significance of our own time - discussion of finding the method of literature research to overcome the modern era Chang Hyun Kim (Sungkyunkwan Univ.) This paper criticizes the existing research tendency that approaches the subject of Heungbujeon with the idea of modern era. It tries to suggest a new theory of method. It criticizes the prejudice of modern development history viewpoint that is based on reliance on the efficiency of machines and market and makes an effect on the analysis of a work. It tries to focus on the essence and original meaning of a work. It studied the subject of Heungbujeon with its own style based on the fundamental basic structure. It criticizes the structural attitude that separately thinks about the form and contents. So 'the basic structure' of this paper doesn’t collect this and that of the text. It thinks about the story totally making the contents and form one together with the origin of Heungbujeon as a agricultural culture. The subject of Heungbujeon is achieved through two characters, Huengbu and Nolbu. It is the value of living community that exists in the traditional agricultural culture. The value is important as the new cultural substitute for overcoming the modern era.
