초록
This paper seeks to investigate the research trends of ecocriticism from the early 1980s to the current era of the Anthropocene in the Euro-American and Anglophone context. After a brief survey of general and significant trends in this field before the early 2010s, it focuses on the ways in which the discourse of the Anthropocene originally popularized in natural science interacts with existing ecological awareness in the humanities. Postulating the conviction that no one can fully undertake the extensive task of overviewing a wide variety of reference works reflecting the ecological over the past half-century in the space of one paper, this paper delineates some noticeable research and discussions in ecocriticism. In performing this task, the paper emphasizes the core value of deconstructionist and non-foundationalist perspectives with a view to valorizing a vital interconnectedness between humans, objects, and the environment.
