They guide students to notice what they should understand from their class. Moreover, they provide connections across each arts disciplines. Now, now many schools and private dance studios in the United States implement the new standards. This study investigates 2014 NCAS standards in dance in order to contribute to establishing dance standards in Korea. This study also presents new ideas in NCAS standards such as artistic literacy, enduring understandings essential questions, and model cornerstone assessment. These new concepts and specific performance standards in dance will be valuable for dance educators to improve curriculum management as well as professional capacities. Therefore, dance educators in Korea need to explore the NCAS standards in dance and appropriately adopt them to their own dance curriculum and standards.
