초록
To understand the attitude of certain group is important, because of it’s influence toward human behavior. The present study was to investigate the attitude toward Korean dance (ATKD) of the female dance major students and to examine the differences between their attitudes of 1997 and 2018 surveys. The participants were 1,147 female dance major students selected from 20 high schools and universities located in metropolitan area by convenient samples. The ATKD was measured by the Semantic Differential Scale (Osgood, Suci, Tannenbaum, 1957) which is composed of three dimensions such as evaluation, activity, and potency. Cronbach’s alpha was calculated from the high school and college dance major students and the resultant values of .819 and .719, respectively. The 3 factors (school class, dance major or not, and attitude factors) mixed model MANOVA was applied. The mean (4.95) of attitude level toward Korean dance perceived by dance major students is higher than theoretical mean (4.00). Dance major students evaluate the value (M=5.36) of Korean dance very positively and the next, perceive that Korean dance is powerful (M=4.85) and active (M=4.65). High school and Korean dance major students have more positive ATKD than college and other dance major students. The ATKD of dance major students has negatively changed in the value judgment toward Korean dance during last 20 years, but not significantly changed in the attitude toward ‘activity and potency’ of Korean dance.
