An Analysis of Word-Formation Patterns in the Korean-English Hybrids of the Online Game Terminology: Lexical Borrowing in the Korean Language

본 연구는 한국어-영어 혼종어 (Korean-English Hybrid)를 바탕으로 한국어 온라인 게임 용어에서 나타나는 영어어휘 차용 현상과 혼종어 형성에 관계된 조어법 분석을 목표로 한다. 공통어로서의 영어를 자국어와 합성하여 새로운신어(신조어)를 만들어 내는데, 이러한 현상은 다양한 산업 군에서 발견되는 언어학적인 현상이다. 온라인 게임 분야와 같은 특정 분야에서 만들어진 혼종어는 해당 분야에서뿐만 아니라, 대중의 일반 언어로까지 확장되어 사용이 된다. 이러한 시대에 따른 언어적 변화는 언어 발달을 위해 수용되어야 하고 사회 언어학적인 관점에서 피할 수 없는 현상이다. 웹사이트상의 블로그, 신문, 백과사전, 게임 용어 사전 등에서 구축된 코퍼스를 조어법 별로 분석하여 혼종어들이생산되는 과정과 조어법 별 특징을 알아본다.
