초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between employees’ learning goals and organizational commitment. This study also attempted to explore the mechanism beyond the relationship between employees’ learning goals and organizational commitment by investigating the mediating role of career adaptability. Employees at a large chemical company in South Korea were solicited to participate in the survey for the study. A total of 131 valid responses were used for the final data analysis. Results from hierarchical regression analyses showed that employees’ learning goals were predictive not only of career adaptability but also of organizational commitment. In addition, career adaptability was found to be a partial mediator between employees’ learning goals and organizational commitment. This study discussed the theoretical and practical implications of the findings and proposes directions for future research.
