전근대시기 한국의 책판목록(冊板目錄)과 도서목록을 통한 산학서 (算學書)의 간행과 유전(流傳) 고찰 1 —조선전기 산학취재(算學取才) 교과서의 간행을 중심으로—

필자는 조선과 대한제국 시기의 책판목록과 도서목록을 이용하여 전근대시기 한국에서 산학서의간행과 유전 정황을 고찰하였다. 이 논문은 고찰 결과 중에서 우선 조선전기 산학취재 교과서의 간행정황에 대해 지금까지 알려진 사실들 위에 한 걸음 더 구체화된 부분을 더하여 서술한 것이다. 1430 년 『양휘산법(楊輝算法)』, 『산학계몽(算學啓蒙)』, 『상명산법(詳明算法)』, 『지산(地算)』, 『오조산경(五曹算經)』이 산학취재 교과서로 선정되었다. 『양휘산법』, 『상명산법』, 『지산』은 임진왜란 이전의책판목록에 수록되어, 조선전기에 판각되었으며 경주, 춘천, 원주가 이 책들의 인쇄 중심지였음을 알수 있었다. 1433년 경주부(慶州府)에서 『양휘산법』을 판각할 때 쓴 발문(跋文)을 일본 도호쿠대학(東北大學) 도서관 소장본에서 검토하고, 『고책판소재고(古冊板所在攷)』와 『동경잡기(東京雜記)』 등의 기록을 종합하여, 『양휘산법』의 판각과 인쇄의 정황을 구체화할 수 있었다. 실물로 전하는『상명산법』의 활자본 두 가지, 『산학계몽』의 활자본 세 가지와 목판본 두 가지, 그리고 『미암일기(眉巖日記)』, 『이재선생유고(頤齋先生遺稿)』, 『산학계몽』김시진(金始振) 중간(重刊) 서문의 기록을통해, 『상명산법』은 조선전기에 적어도 두 차례 활자본으로 간행되다가 『양휘산법』보다 100년 가량늦게 춘천에서 판각되어 『양휘산법』보다 100년 이상 후대까지 판목이 사용되었고, 판각된 이후에도적어도 한 차례 활자본으로 간행되었음을 알 수 있었다. 『산학계몽』은 조선전기에 적어도 네 차례활자본으로 간행되었으나 17세기 중반에는 희귀본이 되어 경자년(1660년)에 김시진이 전주(全州) 에서 중간하였으며, 1767년 화재로 인해 김시진의 경자본(庚子本) 판목이 소실되었다가 을미년(1775 년)의 교정을 거쳐 경오년(1810년)에 다시 판각되었음을 알 수 있었다. 이로써 『신펴산학계몽주해(新編算學啓蒙註解)』의 저술 연도를 1842년 임인년으로 확정할 수도 있었다. 이밖에 왕실 장서목록에 위 책들의 조선본 또는 중국본이 수록되었는지 여부 및 부가 기록을 통해 위 책들에 대한 왕실의인식이 어떻게 변천했는지를 볼 수 있었다.
Abstract
We considered the context of the publications and transmissions of mathematics books using the Korean traditional book lists and the catalogues of woodblocks in the Joseon Dynasty and DaeHan大韓 Empire period. Among the results, this paper rst describes the context of the publication and transmission of mathemat- ics textbooks of national math exams算學取才 in the rst half of Joseon, adding a step more speci c to the facts known so far. In 1430, 『YangHui SanFa楊輝算法』, 『XiangMing SuanFa詳明算法』, 『SuanXue QiMeng算學啓蒙』, 『DiSuan地算』, 『WuCao SuanJing五曹算經』 were selected as the textbooks of national math exams算學取才. 『YangHui SanFa』, 『XiangMing SuanFa』, 『DiSuan』 were included in the catalogues of woodblocks in the Joseon Dynasty before the Japanese invasion in 1592, and we could see that Gyeongju慶州, Chuncheon春川, and Wonju原州 were the printing centers of these books. Through other lists, literature records and real text books, it came out into the open that 『XiangMing SuanFa』 was published as movable print books three times at least, 『SuanXue QiMeng』 four times at least in the rst half of Joseon Dynasty. And 『XiangMing SuanFa』 was published at about 100 years later than 『YangHui SanFa楊輝算法』 as xylographic books, 『SuanXue QiMeng』 was pub- lished twice as xylographic books in the second half of Joseon Dynasty. Whether or not the list of royal books included the Korean or Chinese versions of these books, and additional notation in that shows how the royal estimation of these books changed.
