CVM을 활용한 반려동물 테마파크의 경제적 가치평가

Abstract

As the number of households owning pets increases in Korea, so does the demand for pet-friendly activities and interest in facilities that accommodate such needs. In response, local governments and the tourism and hospitality industries have acknowledged the need to develop pet-friendly infrastructure and are formulating relevant policies. This study evaluates the use value of the increasingly popular pet theme parks in Korea by employing the dichotomous choice Contingent Valuation Method. The research targets pet-owning households in Seoul, which represent approximately 50% of the nation’s pet-owning households. Furthermore, the study separately assesses the use value of individual facilities within the theme park to account for varying user preferences. The findings are expected to offer valuable insights into the demand and appropriate valuation of pet-related facilities, providing justification and strategic direction for establishing public pet theme parks.
