시각예술가 작업환경을 중심으로 한 호흡기 유해요인에 따른 안전예방관리 방법에 관한 연구

Abstract

Due to industrialization, the air environment is getting more harmful, and with the extension of the field of contemporary art, materials, and work production methods are becoming more diversified day by day. Along with this, visual artists have come to be exposed to all sorts of harmful factors to their respiratory system, and this study here aims to seek safety management methods for them. This study classified modern visual arts into molding-related fields, painting-related fields, and computer-related fields according to trends of expression, analyzed respiratory hazards, and established scopes using presentations of each safety prevention method by classification. As a study method, this researcher has examined the status of safety associated with the respiratory disease through a survey conducted to 100 visual artists. This author has investigated work materials, devices, and environments that are currently being utilized and then categorized and analyzed different harmful factors to the respiratory system based on that. Referring to the Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency’s safety-related materials, theses, and books, and so on, this researcher has come up with preventive methods in accordance with each of the harmful elements. After collecting, categorizing, and analyzing necessary materials related to the field of visual arts, this study has suggested how to maintain safety for visual artists’ respiratory system and also methods for prevention and management. Air management methods for prevention were divided into the three types of source control, ventilation, and air cleaning and management methods for each were presented. To control the source, each material should be managed suitably. Natural ventilation is basically required, and mechanical ventilation is required according to the concentration and type of dust. The air purifier should be operated and personal respiratory protection suitable for the work should be worn. Because modern visual art is expressed in mass through complex and combined methods and not through expressions of singular fields, safety prevention by each presented field requires integrated safety management and prevention combined to suit individual work tendencies. This suggestion will form the foundational material for safe creation that can allow visual artists to maintain their respiratory health.
