본 연구는 직장에서 머무는 시간이 길어지는 현대사회의 직장인들에게 힐링을 줄 수 있는 에스닉 스타일의 데스크 용품 디자인을 제안하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 연구는 이론적 고찰, 사례 조사 및 분석, 디자인 제안의 세 단계로 진행되었다. 먼저 문헌자료와 선행연구 를 통해 에스닉 양식의 정의와 전개, 조형적 특징을 고찰하였으며 데스크 용품 선행연구를 통해 데스크 용품의 구성의 기반으로 삼았다. 사례분석에서는 에스닉 스타일의 디자인이 적 용된 제품 사례를 패션 및 생활 제품을 중심으로 수집, 분석함으로써 기존 제품의 특징·한 계를 파악하여 디자인 계획을 수립하였다. 기존의 에스닉 스타일 제품의 디자인 모티브가 아프리카 문양에 치우쳐 있는 것을 고려하여 아프리카의 자연을 모티브로 삼아 패턴 디자인 을 개발하여 총 5가지의 제품 디자인 계획을 세웠으며 그 중 하나를 선정하여 책갈피, 틴케 이스, 테이블매트에 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안하였다. 본 연구의 디자인 제안이 데스크 용품 디자인 다양화에 기여하고, 업무에 지친 직장인들의 정신적 위로가 되기를 기대한다.
Abstract
This study aims to propose an ethnic style design for desk organizers that can provide relaxation for office workers in modern society who spend long hours at work. The study was proceeded in three stages: theoretical consideration, case investigation and analysis, and design proposal. First, the definition and development of the ethnic form and the formative characteristics were discussed through the literature materials and prior research. The prior study of the desk organizers was used as a basis for the composition of the desk organizers. In case analysis, the design plan was established by identifying the characteristics and limitations of the existing products through collecting and analyzing product cases with ethnic style design centered on fashion and living products. Considering the fact that the design motif of the existing ethnic style product is biased toward African patterns, pattern design was developed based on Africa's nature and set up a total of five product design plans. One of them was selected and proposed through simulation on bookmarks, tin cases, and table mats. We hope that the design proposal of this study will contribute to the diversification of the design of desk organizers and provide comfort for the exhausted office workers.
