이 글은 신약성서의 교회 이해를 고찰한다. 무고한 304명의 생명이 진도앞바다에 세월호와 함께 앉은 참사에 대해 침묵하는 교회들에 대한 문제의식에서 연구가 촉발되었다. 교회론에 관한 기존의 연구들은 개념 풀이 수준을 보였다. 본고에서는 초기 교회가 어떻게 형성되었고, 어떻게 유지되었는지에 관해 신약성서의 기록 안에서 역사적 고찰을 하며, 교회의 존재의미와 사회와 교회의 관계에 관한 신약성서의 입장을 고찰하려는 차원으로 접근하였다. 연구 결과, 한국교회가 사회문제에 대해 침묵하는 이유는 “거룩한 성도”라는 교회개념에 대한 오해에서 나오는 것으로 파악되었다. 거룩이란 세상과 거리를 둔다는 의미를 가지지만, 그것은 세상에서 일어나는 일에 대해 무관심이 아니라 세상적 가치 추구를 끊고, 믿음 이후 주인되신 하나님과 예수 그리스도와 성령을 중심에 두는 삶을 의미한다. 고로 세월호 참사에 대해 침묵하는 것은 교회의 올바른 태도라고 볼 수 없다. 교회는 사회에서 일어나는 일들에 대해 관심을 갖고 하나님의 뜻이 이 땅에서 이루어질 수 있도록 촉구할 과제를 안고 있다.
Abstract
This paper attempts to present the early Christian Community in the New Testament. The Motiv of the Research is provoked by the silence of the Korean churches about the on April 16. 2015 happened Sewolho disaster. The previous academic studies carried out the several concepts of the church. In this paper, I try to draw the picture of the early church by the historical and textcritical approach to the text of the New Testament, in the way of answering to the questions, how the early church was consisted and preserved, what was the goal of the christian life and how the early church related with the society. The silence of the Korean churches to the social issues is caused by the misunderstanding of the one of the basic concept “the holy” that means originally discriminated. The holiness, the life attitude of the early christian, doesn’t mean the unconcern about the social issues. It means that man should not follow the value and tendency of the world, but live with God, Jesus Christ and the holy spirit as his Lord. Therefore, the church has the task to concern the social issues and to show the intention of God in the earth.
