초록

Outdoor storage tanks are used to store large quantities of liquid hazardous materials, and when a fire occurs, they release a large amount of radiant heat, which can have a fatal impact on surrounding structures and facilities. Therefore, this study quantitatively analyzed the radiant heat flux distribution using FDS under unfavorable conditions of non-operation of water spray extinguishing equipment in outdoor storage tanks, a reservoir height of 7.0m, and a wind speed of 10m/s. The simulation results show that the radiant heat flux generally increases as the height increases. In particular, it rapidly increased after the 10.0m point, and the highest radiant heat flux was recorded at 2.69kW/m² at the 12.0m point, and a high value of 2.50kW/m² was recorded at 13.0 m. After stabilization of combustion, the radiation heat flux is continuously maintained at the level of 2.4 ~ 2.6kW/m², which means that the high temperature environment is maintained for a long time. Even though the water spray extinguishing system was not in operation, the fire spread was limited due to the initial reduction in the amount of fuel in the storage tank and the combustion stability. In future studies, it is judged that various studies on fire should be conducted through simulation analysis considering the combustion characteristics of various fuels, the possibility of chain ignition of multiple storage tanks, and complex wind conditions.
