Abstract

This article seeks to research the social characteristics and limitation of anti-government protests in Lebanon from 2015 to 2020. The Lebanese people, who are deeply affected by sectarian society, actively called for the overthrow of the regime in the face of the garage crisis in 2015. This paper examines the vulnerability of the sectarian society, the background of a series of national crises caused by dysfunction in government, ,in addition to the aspects and limitations of anti-government protests. The anti-government protests in Lebanon are meaningful in that they have an anti-sectarian civil nature. The regime's reformof its political and economic system will be an only turning point for it to take its political system a step further into a democracy that still seems a long way off.
