초록
This scenario was developed to provide nursing care for managing metabolic alkalosis induced by severe vomiting in patients with advanced gastric cancer. Gastric cancer, which has a high incidence in East Asia, commonly presents with vomiting as a major complication. Vomiting-induced metabolic alkalosis may lead to complications such as impaired neurological and muscular functions. The effective management of vomiting is crucial for the prevention and treatment of metabolic alkalosis. This study aims to interpret metabolic alkalosis, emphasize the importance of electrolyte regulation through intravenous hydration, and enhance the clinical decision-making and performance skills of nursing students.
